Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • pass criminal background checks
  • reliable transportation and ability to travel overnight when required
  • willingness to work variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • maintain CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving certifications
  • possess and retain current food safety certificates and health examination as required by state and local codes
  • able to work independently and follow directions
  • strong communication and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • At least two years of paid food service experience
  • minimum one year of food service experience with administrative duties like food ordering, budget management, and compliance
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedure documents
  • proficiency in writing reports and correspondence
  • mathematical skills to calculate proportions and figures
  • ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Defensive Driving Certification
  • valid driver’s license
  • possession of current food safety certificates such as Food Handler’s Card
  • proficient in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • experience with basic office equipment such as copier and fax machine

Job Duties

  • Prepares meals and ensures compliance with dietitian-approved menus and regulations
  • prepares meals quickly and independently according to approved schedules
  • manages food and kitchen inventory including ordering supplies and equipment
  • maintains cleanliness and safety standards in kitchen, serving, and preparation areas
  • keeps accurate and required records related to food service operations
  • stays informed of all relevant procedures and policies including emergency drills and facility sanitation
  • works assigned schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • attends required meetings and participates in inspections and operational activities
