Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid sanitation certificate
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • Capacity to handle cooking equipment safely
  • Knowledge of basic diet requirements and food safety
  • Ability to maintain a sanitary and safe working area
  • Flexibility to work various shifts on a Registry/PRN basis

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Sanitation certificate required
  • Experience in food preparation in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety protocols
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Follow sanitation guidelines
  • Follow recipes and preparation instructions
  • Use cooking equipment accurately and efficiently
  • Be knowledgeable of basic diet requirements
  • Properly portion all food and ingredients per department standards
  • Prepare food to accurate consistency per diet requirements
  • Prep food items for current use and next day
  • Follow production sheets and record all related HACCP documentation
  • Promote a clean and safe environment of care using SAFE error prevention habits
  • Provide the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality regarding patients, coworkers, and hospital information
