Job Requirements

Must be able to communicate verbally in English
Must be able to read and write English
High school graduate
Minimum of one year experience as a cook
Knowledgeable of modified diets
Ability to prepare a variety of foods and follow portion control protocols
Ability to use institutional food production equipment
Ability to deal with work interruptions without becoming upset or disorganized

Job Qualifications

Ability to use standardized recipes and alter yields correctly

Job Duties

Complete all hot and cold food production on time according to patient meal schedules
Prepare modified texture diets and special orders
Perform food preparation tasks including cooking, panning, sandwich, salad, and salad bar prep
Utilize standardized recipes and serving schedules accurately
Control waste and manage under/overproduction of foods
Cook food to proper cooking temperatures ensuring safety and quality
Perform various cleaning tasks including detail cleaning of work areas and equipment
