Job Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate verbally in English
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • High school graduate
  • Minimum of one year experience as a cook
  • Knowledgeable of modified diets
  • Ability to prepare a variety of foods and follow portion control protocols
  • Ability to use institutional food production equipment
  • Ability to deal with work interruptions without becoming upset or disorganized

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Culinary training beneficial
  • Minimum of one year experience as a cook
  • Knowledgeable of modified diets
  • Ability to communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to use a food scale
  • Ability to use standardized recipes and alter yields correctly

Job Duties

  • Complete all hot and cold food production on time according to patient meal schedules
  • Prepare modified texture diets and special orders
  • Perform food preparation tasks including cooking, panning, sandwich, salad, and salad bar prep
  • Utilize standardized recipes and serving schedules accurately
  • Control waste and manage under/overproduction of foods
  • Cook food to proper cooking temperatures ensuring safety and quality
  • Perform various cleaning tasks including detail cleaning of work areas and equipment
