Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to read and understand information and direction
- Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
Job Qualifications
- Previous food preparation experience is helpful but not required
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Ability to work well with others
- Effective communication, guest service and selling skills
Job Duties
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, dairy and other food items using knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags
- Process prepared foods for service using standard kitchen equipment
- Assure that each item is cooked to the Chef and guest's specifications
- Garnish each dish properly
- Adhere to instructions provided by the Head Chef, Lowes Foods manuals, and documentation
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, cooking equipment, prep equipment, and storage equipment both during and after service
- Stock inventory appropriately and according to established standards and systems
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in a high quality and timely fashion
- Assume responsibility for quality, food safety/sanitation and timeliness of products served
- Maintain safety and sanitation throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards
- Provide guests service consistent with established Purpose, Priorities, and Service Standards
- Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the management staff
