Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation
  • knowledge and experience with elderly care
  • previous dementia experience preferred
  • Food Service Sanitation certificate
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • basic reading and writing skills
  • ability to speak English in an understandable manner

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation
  • knowledge and experience working with elderly individuals
  • previous dementia care experience preferred
  • Food Service Sanitation certificate according to State/Local requirements
  • basic reading and writing skills
  • ability to speak English clearly

Job Duties

  • Prepare appetizing and nutritious meals
  • assist the Executive Chef in managing food service functions
  • ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable kitchen and dining environment
  • follow state and local food sanitation regulations
  • maintain inventory and food supplies
  • assist in planning menus suited to dietary requirements of elderly residents including those with dementia
  • support overall service delivery with tact and professionalism
