Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant cooking experience
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Willingness to work onsite at Aurora location
  • Must follow all food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
  • Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods
  • Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or executive chef to ensure timely readiness of food
  • Confer with supervisor and/or executive chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
  • Adhere to guidelines regarding storage, handling, and preparation of food
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of work area
  • Exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment
