Job Qualifications

  • vocational or on-the-job training in cooking preferred
  • two years of work experience required
  • five years experience in food production and cooking in demanding schedules preferred
  • cooking experience in hospitals and multi-site facilities preferred
  • computer knowledge and familiarity with inventory and ordering systems preferred
  • maintain a current Food Service Managers Certification with photo from the Metropolitan Health Department preferred

Job Duties

  • perform functions requiring sound knowledge and skill in quantity and batch cooking methods and procedures
  • assist in preparing and cooking foods required in the operation of a major patient-care and commercial cafeteria facility
  • comply with University Health and department policies
  • ensure proper care and use of foods, supplies, and equipment
  • comply with safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations
  • maintain good guest and working relations
  • assure the competent, efficient and timely performance of duties and assignments
  • meet established daily deadlines with accuracy and quality performance
