Job Requirements

  • Must have one to two years of institutional or restaurant experience
  • ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, and family members
  • ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from internal and external sources
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • ability to apply basic math skills
  • flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours
  • must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, and background check

Job Duties

  • Prepare, season, and cook food according to tested recipes for residents, visitors, and employees
  • responsible for cleanliness of large equipment in preparation and serving areas
  • plan cooking schedule so food is ready at serving time
  • maintain quality of products throughout preparation and serving by means of routine temperature checks and taste tests
  • set up food in steam tables and deliver more food as needed
  • maintain portion control in preparation and serving
  • check left-over perishables in refrigerator and freezer and arrange to use them
  • perform other related duties as assigned
