Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 pounds
- Ability to work from ladders in awkward positions
- Ability to maintain clean and neat appearance
- Ability to attend trainings and meetings
- Ability to maintain adequate attendance
- Ability to follow instructions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One or more years of line cook experience demonstrating proficiency in cooking techniques and food preparation
- Basic knowledge of health department standards and food handling and preparation
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment such as steamers, ovens, slicers, and knives
- Ability to prepare and cook food according to health department and Division of Food Services standards
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Job Duties
- Responsible for daily preparation and cooking of foods
- Maintains clean and organized work areas
- Puts received food orders away in an organized manner
- Maintains cleanliness of walk-in, dry storage, and prep areas
- Assists with end of shift clean up including floors, counters, trash, and cardboard
- Maintains cleanliness of all kitchen equipment
- Attend meetings and training
- Travels to and attends team and organizational meetings, training, events and activities and appropriately and professionally represents the department
- Performs other duties as assigned
