Job Duties
- Prepares hospital foods using standardized recipes
- assesses requirements to avoid over/under production of foods
- plans and coordinates cooking schedules
- stores, dates and labels food properly
- cools foods for storage using safe food handling procedures
- reheats and utilizes leftovers appropriately
- consults with supervisors about special items and recipe evaluations
- ensures food quality, freshness, taste and appearance meet standards
- operates food service equipment safely
- previews menus/work orders to determine types and quantities of items to be prepared
- alerts supervisor to equipment and food supply issues
- inspects and maintains equipment cleanliness and operation
- adheres to organizational safety, confidentiality, policies and standards
- performs related duties as assigned
