Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience in culinary arts
  • Previous kitchen cooking experience
  • Ability to work with older adults preferred
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift 15 to 20 pounds
  • Good hearing and visual capabilities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen in a cooking capacity
  • Prior experience working with older adults preferred

Job Duties

  • Report for work when scheduled, on time and in uniform
  • Follow all safe food handling procedures
  • Help A.M. Cook finish lunch preparation
  • While helping keep lunch line replenished with fresh food, begin dinner preparation including soup, entrees, starches, vegetables
  • Turn on equipment as needed only for the shift
  • Finish dinner preparation and have food on the service line before 4:00 p.m.
  • While keeping the dinner line replenished, begin cleaning duties
  • Pull food from service line after dinner service
  • Wrap, label, and refrigerate products
  • Prepare special orders
  • Turn off and clean all equipment
  • Check with chef before leaving
  • Lock cooler, kitchen, storage, and dietary office
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed
  • Clean stove top, flat-top, fryer/broaster/baskets
  • Wipe out steamer
  • Clean prep tables
  • Sweep and mop hot line
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning duties
