Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Must be able to follow directions and safety procedures
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Must comply with hospital vaccination policies including influenza vaccination
  • Availability for per diem work
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparation and cooking of foods for patients, café, and special functions
  • Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure quality and consistency
  • Maintain sanitation and food safety standards in all kitchen activities
  • Clean and organize workstations and kitchen equipment
  • Support inventory management by reporting supplies needed
  • Collaborate with dietary and kitchen staff to accommodate special dietary requirements
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures including health and safety regulations
