Job Requirements

  • Pastry degree preferred or equivalent training and experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • two to four years of experience in a high volume kitchen
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • must be passionate about pastry and breads
  • must have advanced pastry techniques knowledge
  • must be able to work under pressure and multitask
  • must be physically able to perform all kitchen duties for 8-12 hours
  • must be reliable and responsible

Job Qualifications

  • Two to four years of experience in a high-volume and detail-oriented kitchen
  • knowledgeable in pastries, breads, confections, cake design and ice cream making
  • at least 18 years old
  • passionate about pastry and breads
  • current with culinary concepts and practices
  • skilled in advanced pastry techniques
  • organized and able to work quickly and efficiently
  • excellent communication skills
  • pleasant and outgoing personality
  • able to handle high stress and multitask
  • physically able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods

  • familiar with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • working knowledge of mathematics for recipe conversions

Job Duties

  • Assist the Pastry Chef with all pastry production
  • prepare pastries and breads timely
  • support team members consistently
  • take care of guests with excellent service
  • assist in bread and pastry planning, preparation, and execution including proofing, baking, cake decorating, and ice cream making
  • ensure proper storage and rotation of food products according to SOPs, local health regulations, and HACCP
  • follow standard recipes to ensure flavor, quality, size, and presentation meet standards
  • maintain clean, organized work areas and adhere to sanitation standards
  • communicate effectively and promote a positive kitchen atmosphere
  • adhere to sanitation and hygiene standards
  • follow all company policies including food safety and security
  • serve as a role model and lead by example
  • seek methods to improve department efficiency and productivity
