Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Culinary school and/or experience in a full service restaurant
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • Ability to use commercial kitchen equipment
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation
  • Experience in basic inventory control
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of proper preparation and cooking methods for a wide variety of food items
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Understanding of sanitation and safety methods for food preparation and handling
  • Basic inventory control skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Ability to cook and bake food in large quantities
  • Capability to understand recipes and menus
  • Skills to evaluate and determine food condition, doneness, and decorations
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions
  • Competence in keeping simple records
  • Experience supervising and training kitchen helpers

Job Duties

  • Serves orders for food and beverages
  • Prepares and cooks menu items and other dishes
  • Follows food orders
  • Portions, arranges, and garnishes food
  • May coordinate and supervise other food service employees
  • May serve food at food stands and perform cashier duties
