Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- one year’s experience in quantity food preparation
- Food Protection Manager’s Certification from an accredited ANSI-CFP program, mandatory completion within 90 days of hire
- ability to follow patient diet orders
- ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- good and regular attendance
- fluent in English
- basic computer skills
- able to work cooperatively as a team member
- able to communicate effectively with patients and staff
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma

- one year’s experience in quantity food preparation settings such as restaurant, hospital, nursing center, or hotel
- full understanding of therapeutic diets preferred
- ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and coworkers at all organization levels
- skilled in quantity cooking
- basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and menu management system
- ability to be accurate, concise, and detail oriented
- must read, write and speak fluent English
Job Duties
- Prepares food following department standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies and procedures
- serves and portions food per department standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies and procedures
- follows patient diet order when serving food to patients
- makes only authorized changes to the planned menu and records changes according to established policy
- uses production sheets to direct preparation and quantity of food
- prepares and serves food at proper temperatures set forth by the FDA Food Code
- ensures food served to patients is properly labeled per policy
