Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • one year’s experience in quantity food preparation
  • Food Protection Manager’s Certification from an accredited ANSI-CFP program, mandatory completion within 90 days of hire
  • ability to follow patient diet orders
  • ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • good and regular attendance
  • fluent in English
  • basic computer skills
  • able to work cooperatively as a team member
  • able to communicate effectively with patients and staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • one year’s experience in quantity food preparation settings such as restaurant, hospital, nursing center, or hotel
  • full understanding of therapeutic diets preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and coworkers at all organization levels
  • skilled in quantity cooking
  • basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and menu management system
  • ability to be accurate, concise, and detail oriented
  • must read, write and speak fluent English

Job Duties

  • Prepares food following department standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies and procedures
  • serves and portions food per department standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies and procedures
  • follows patient diet order when serving food to patients
  • makes only authorized changes to the planned menu and records changes according to established policy
  • uses production sheets to direct preparation and quantity of food
  • prepares and serves food at proper temperatures set forth by the FDA Food Code
  • ensures food served to patients is properly labeled per policy
