Job Requirements
- One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred
- food handlers card required or food safety certification where required by local ordinance
- fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene
- ability to tactfully communicate with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public
- regular, predictable, and dependable attendance

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with standard menus and specifications
- follow recipes and ensure proper storage of food and supplies
- supervise serving of meals by wait staff
- direct and assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, and floors
- ensure all residents have received meals
- ensure fire and safety practices and procedures are followed
- perform daily and scheduled cleaning of kitchen and equipment in accordance with sanitation procedures
