Job Requirements
- Active SafeStaff certification within 30 days of hire
- 1-3 years volume cooking experience in hospital, hotel, institutional, or catering setting
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to safely operate kitchen tools and equipment
- Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
- Able to work in fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information such as HIPAA
- Follow safety and sanitation protocols
- Ability to interact positively with customers and coworkers
- Physically able to perform cooking and cleaning duties
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare food service as a cook preferred
- Proficiency in food safety practices and culinary techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to follow instructions and complete repetitive tasks
- Friendly and outgoing with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to safely use and maintain kitchen equipment

- Quick learner familiar with menu and procedures

Job Duties
- Prepare, season, and cook foods according to recipe standards under supervision
- Perform short-order cooking functions at retail cafeteria or patient tray line
- Operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix, and prepare ingredients
- Maintain food production sheets by weighing and documenting food items
- Collaborate in sustainability efforts including food donation and composting
- Clean and sanitize workstation and kitchen equipment daily
- Greet customers professionally and provide excellent customer service
- Follow safety and security policies to ensure workplace safety
- Maintain calm demeanor during high volume periods
- Implement food safety and sanitation protocols consistently
- Set up and present food according to standardized recipes
- Float and work in other food service areas as needed
- Report customer complaints and operational issues to leadership
