Job Requirements
- Must be current on all vaccinations including COVID-19 and receive CDC recommended booster doses
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to follow all local, state and federal food safety regulations
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physical kitchen tasks
- Experience or willingness to work in a healthcare setting
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed

Job Duties
- Ensure that the attainment of Victory Housing (VHI) mission takes precedence over all decisions and actions
- Implement all VHI policies and procedures
- Abide by all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines to meet/exceed all food safety and industry standards
- Prepare meals according to planned/dietician certified menus, including special dietary requirements
- Adhere to resident special diet orders and serve food according to portion control guidelines and correct temperature
- Plate all resident meals unique to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring appealing presentation
- Prep for next day meals per production sheets and as instructed
- Participate in special events, cooking and serving as instructed
- Support the psycho-social needs of Residents by committing to Activities Program and ensuring availability of nutritious snacks
- Identify inventory needs and complete inventory count of food and supplies
- Report all inventory and par levels weekly to Executive Director
- Assist with uncrating deliveries and storing products using proper food safety measures
- Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen, clean as you go approach, and follow daily cleaning schedule
- Maintain all equipment and report any needs to Executive Director
- Ensure grease trap and ice-machine are cleaned weekly with records maintained per WSSC guidelines
- Wash cookware, glassware, china, and utensils using appropriate methods and commercial dishwasher
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
- Seek to assure highest level of satisfaction from Residents and Families
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire safety procedures and assist with evacuation as needed
- Maintain food and sanitation certification, including ServSafe and food service license
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
