Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation
  • knowledge and experience working with elderly residents
  • preferred experience with dementia patients
  • food service sanitation certificate according to state/local requirements
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • basic reading and writing skills
  • ability to speak English in an understandable manner

Job Duties

  • prepare appetizing and nutritious meals for residents
  • assist the Culinary Services Coordinator in managing food service functions
  • maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable kitchen environment
  • follow health and safety regulations including food service sanitation standards
  • communicate effectively to ensure meal quality and resident satisfaction
  • handle food preparation with attention to dietary needs especially for elderly and dementia residents
  • participate in employee appreciation events and contribute to a positive team environment
