Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation
  • knowledge and experience working with elderly individuals
  • previous dementia experience preferred
  • food service sanitation certificate according to state or local requirements
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • basic reading and writing skills
  • ability to speak English clearly and understandably

Job Duties

  • Prepare appetizing and nutritious meals for residents
  • assist the Executive Chef in managing food service functions

  • provide professional and sensitive service to elderly residents
  • handle food according to dietary guidelines and special resident needs
  • participate in employee appreciation events and trainings
