Job Requirements

  • minimum of one year cooking experience including short order and quantity cooking
  • Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • willingness to learn new food preparation techniques and presentation
  • knowledge of special dietary needs of residents and meal preparation techniques
  • demonstrated teamwork and team behaviors
  • ability to handle conflict or customer complaints effectively
  • ability to multitask
  • follow all food safety and equipment safety procedures
  • knowledge of community quality standards and requirements
  • dependability, punctuality, self-motivation, and ability to work without constant supervision

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of one year of cooking experience including short order and quantity cooking
  • Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation
  • understanding of special dietary needs of senior residents
  • ability to multitask and focus under pressure

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve food items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as assigned
  • maintain proper sanitation and safety procedures
  • read and follow recipes to ensure consistency of the product
  • order, receive, and rotate stock in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • assist with meeting or exceeding resident dining expectations
  • communicate effectively with team members and residents
  • comply with community quality standards and requirements
