Job Requirements
- Must be 17 years of age or older
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures including Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- knowledge of kitchen equipment
- commercial kitchen experience preferred
- prior senior care experience a plus
- Serv Safe certification or equivalent preferred
- Certified Food Protection Manager certification preferred
Job Duties
- Provide exemplary service to residents, families and guests ensuring a welcoming and courteous environment
- prep, prepare, cook and serve meals to residents, families, guests and employees
- operate and maintain all kitchen equipment properly
- report production shortages and overages to supervisor immediately
- follow directions and recipes accurately with the ability to convert recipes for different group sizes
- maintain adequate inventory of food and supplies notifying supervisor of shortages
- maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and organized work area complying with federal and state regulations
- assist with stocking and putting away groceries ensuring proper labeling, dating and rotation of products
- partner with department leaders to prepare for special events and activities
- ensure residents with special diets receive appropriate food and accommodate resident requests promptly
- demonstrate proper safety and sanitation techniques
- collaborate effectively with team members and support employees as directed by leadership
- perform other duties as assigned
