Job Requirements

  • Education in culinary arts or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of professional culinary experience
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • ability to read and understand English
  • strong teamwork and communication skills
  • knowledge of nutrition and specialized diets
  • adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • ability to delegate effectively while maintaining positive team dynamics

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or certification preferred but not required with equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of professional culinary experience preferably in assisted living dining or high-end hospitality
  • ability to read and follow dietary cards, menus, and production sheets
  • strong knowledge of food safety protocols and kitchen sanitation
  • experience working in high-pressure environments while maintaining quality
  • good communication skills in English oral and written
  • background in menu development and dietary accommodations including allergies and restrictions
  • ability to manage solo operations and small teams efficiently

Job Duties

  • Create high-quality meals following state and local food safety codes and regulations
  • prepare and bake hot and cold meals for residents
  • manage food services for coffee shop and special events
  • clean kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness
  • ensure kitchen sanitation and hygiene
  • adapt menus according to ingredient availability and resident preferences
  • collaborate with nursing and support staff for effective dietary accommodations
