Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years lead experience in institutional cooking or food preparation
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • ServSafe certification
  • ability to follow recipes and production sheets
  • good communication skills
  • ability to adhere to food handling and safety guidelines
  • ability to operate kitchen and cleaning equipment
  • availability to work weekends from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

Job Duties

  • Review menus on a daily basis
  • prepare all items on the menu in accordance with standard recipe cards and amounts listed on production sheet
  • have food on serving line 15 minutes prior to serving time
  • bake cakes, biscuits, cobblers, etc. according to production sheet
  • record amount of food prepared and amount left over on daily production sheet
  • complete all other daily production needs including waste log, in/out leftover refrigeration log, recipe audits, and taste temperature log
  • prepare food for employees' cafeteria when assigned
  • help serve food at mealtimes when necessary
  • prepare food for special functions when necessary
  • maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
  • clean all equipment after each use
  • follow all sanitation and food handling requirements
  • perform other duties as assigned
