Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
  • 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Capacity to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Reliable and punctual work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation or related field
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
  • Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods
  • Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or executive chef to ensure food is ready at specified times
  • Confer with supervisor and/or executive chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
  • Adhere to all guidelines regarding storage, handling, and preparation of food as well as sanitation and maintenance of work area
  • Work independently with critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure timely and quality food preparation for patients, cafeteria, and catering services
