Job Requirements
- Must be able to work part time hours including some evenings and weekends
- Experience in cooking for large groups
- Certificate in food-preparation training preferred
- Desire to work with senior adults
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
- Reliable and punctual
- Capable of maintaining cleanliness and safety standards

Job Duties
- Follow recipes and scale up or down appropriately
- Use common sense and cooking knowledge to adjust seasonings
- Adhere to specific diets including mechanical soft, lactose free, gluten free, vegetarian
- Read and follow individual menus at meal service time
- Use scratch and speed scratch cooking techniques
- Manage time effectively, multitasking and prioritizing tasks
- Prepare and serve meals on time
- Be flexible and make substitutions when necessary
- Maintain station cleanliness and safety
- Follow daily cleaning and closing checklists
- Wash dishes and maintain workstation
- Notify food service director of kitchen equipment issues
- Engage with residents during meal times
- Prepare food and coordinate food service for special events
- Assist with other assigned duties
