Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in cooking or food preparation
- Ability to obtain or possess a valid food handler's certification
- Availability to work flexible part-time hours including weekends
- Ability to follow food safety rules and standards
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good communication
- Physical ability to perform kitchen tasks involving standing, lifting, and manual dexterity
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies
- Willingness to attend safety and training meetings as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
- Prior food handler's certification preferred
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning and ensuring proper temperature and appearance
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Cleans kitchen and maintains high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping, and ordering of food and supplies
- Reports maintenance needs or faulty equipment to supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperature according to HACCP standards
- Commits to personal and workplace safety
- Abides by all company safety policies and procedures including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
