Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a cook in a professional kitchen, preferably senior living or healthcare
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
  • Ability to work weekend shifts and from 2:00 pm to 8:00/9:00 pm
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy kitchen equipment
  • Flexibility to adapt to dietary needs and menu changes
  • Commitment to a drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary school or relevant certification preferred
  • Experience cooking in senior living, healthcare, or similar settings
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and ServSafe certification or equivalent
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Adaptability to changing menus and dietary needs

Job Duties

  • Prepare nutritious and diet-specific meals for residents
  • Collaborate with Head Chef on menu planning
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards including HACCP
  • Maintain clean and organized kitchen and equipment
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with kitchen and service staff
  • Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions such as low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
  • Participate in teamwork to foster a supportive kitchen environment
