Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a cook in a professional kitchen, preferably senior living or healthcare
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
- Ability to work weekend shifts and from 2:00 pm to 8:00/9:00 pm
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy kitchen equipment
- Flexibility to adapt to dietary needs and menu changes
- Commitment to a drug-free workplace policy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary school or relevant certification preferred
- Experience cooking in senior living, healthcare, or similar settings
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and ServSafe certification or equivalent
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Adaptability to changing menus and dietary needs
Job Duties
- Prepare nutritious and diet-specific meals for residents
- Collaborate with Head Chef on menu planning
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards including HACCP
- Maintain clean and organized kitchen and equipment
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with kitchen and service staff
- Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions such as low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
- Participate in teamwork to foster a supportive kitchen environment
