Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least 18 years of age
- at least one year of relevant cooking experience
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- prior cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility preferred
- knowledge of safety procedures in food service
- ability to stand for extended periods
- physical ability to perform kitchen tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing

- prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility a plus
- experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment
Job Duties
- Refers to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and completes opening and closing checklists daily
- sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- safely uses a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
- must be comfortable using and operating a variety of equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc
- knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
- handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly and in accordance with applicable state laws
- follow assigned instructions to properly stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth serving of food
- clear understanding of menu items
- understand and responsible for prepping ingredients
- strong grasp on various cooking methods, food items, equipment, etc
- be able to multitask in a high-volume kitchen
- be able to handle hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
- perform other related duties as assigned
