Job Requirements
- Must be 17 years of age or older
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
- Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Commercial kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment preferred
- Previous senior care experience preferred
- Serv Safe certification or equivalent preferred
- Certified Food Protection Manager preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
Job Duties
- Provides exemplary service to residents, families and guests ensuring all feel welcome and given responsive friendly and courteous service
- Preps, prepares, cooks and serves meals to residents, families, guests and employees while properly operating and maintaining all kitchen equipment
- Reports production shortages and overages to supervisor immediately
- Accurately follows directions and recipes including converting recipes for various size groups while adhering to production guidelines for optimal product usage, portion control and leftover use
- Maintains adequate inventory of food and supplies notifying supervisor if items are missing
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area in compliance with all federal and state regulations
- Assists with stocking and putting away groceries ensuring products are labeled, dated, and rotated for fresh inventory
- Partners with department leaders to be aware of special facility events and activities to ensure adequate product and labor availability
- Ensures residents with special diets receive appropriate food and promptly accommodates dietary requests
- Demonstrates proper safety and sanitation techniques
- Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment supporting community employees as directed by leadership
- Performs other duties as assigned
