Job Requirements

  • Must be 17 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 17 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures including Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Commercial kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment preferred
  • Previous senior care experience preferred
  • Serv Safe certification or equivalent preferred
  • Certified Food Protection Manager preferred

Job Duties

  • Provides exemplary service to residents, families, and guests ensuring all feel welcome and receive friendly, courteous service
  • Preps, prepares, cooks and serves meals to residents, families, guests and employees
  • Properly operates and maintains all kitchen equipment
  • Reports production shortages or overages to supervisor immediately
  • Accurately follows directions and recipes and converts recipes for various group sizes
  • Follows production guidelines for best product usage, portion control and use of leftovers
  • Maintains adequate inventory of food and supplies, notifying supervisor of shortages
  • Maintains clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area
  • Complies with all federal and state regulations
  • Assists with stocking and putting away groceries, labeling and rotating products
  • Partners with department leaders to maintain awareness of special events and ensure adequate product and labor
  • Ensures residents with special diets receive appropriate food and accommodates requests promptly
  • Demonstrates proper safety and sanitation techniques
  • Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
