  • must be people-oriented individual with excellent communication skills

  • well organized, productive and self-motivated
  • high school education or ged preferred
  • servsafe certification or state equivalent
  • working knowledge of food handling, preparation, production, standard kitchen equipment, food safety and sanitation
  • ability to read, speak, write and follow oral and written directions
  • minimum 1 year experience as sauté cook, line cook, sous chef or executive chef in full-service restaurant or healthcare foodservice facility
  • willing to work flexible hours

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • prepare high-quality meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations and company standards
  • follow instruction relating to the timely preparation of food orders
  • organize workstations and assist other cooks as needed
  • prepare meals using various cooking techniques in an open kitchen setting
  • ensure food portions and plate presentation meet company standards
  • label, date and rotate food items properly
  • clean and sanitize all equipment and food preparation areas
  • assist in training new employees as directed
  • resolve any customer order issues efficiently
  • maintain kitchen cleanliness at the end of shifts
  • participate in cooking and service for special events when required
  • monitor personal performance and improve where needed
