Job Duties

  • Cut, prepare, and serve a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and sides
  • Sample products to customers
  • Check in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotate products when necessary
  • Assist Kitchen Manager in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and worksheets as required
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain clean and sanitary working and shopping environments and equipment
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties including ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Report safety hazards and violations to management immediately
  • Stock displays with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in, and refrigerators
  • Load, unload, and move heavy bulky products
  • Replenish stock and goods on display shelves
  • Rotate products and remove expired items
  • Ensure shelves are clean, neat, and organized
  • Follow safety policies and encourage colleagues to do the same
  • Answer customer questions and concerns and follow up appropriately
  • Work with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • Maintain knowledge of sales and promotions
  • Use conflict resolution skills to de-escalate customer complaints
  • Communicate with staff to keep store floor free of hazards
  • Help customers navigate the store
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards, including backroom and shelves
  • Dispose of trash
  • Perform other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
