Job Requirements
- Must be current on all vaccinations including COVID-19 and receive CDC recommended booster doses
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety regulations

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment preferred
- Food safety certification such as ServSafe required
- Valid food service license required
- Knowledge of meal preparation for special dietary needs
- Ability to follow recipes and nutrition guidelines
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and inventory management skills
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and lifting tasks
- Commitment to resident satisfaction and community service
- Ability to attend required training and meetings
Job Duties
- Ensure that the attainment of Victory Housing mission takes precedence over all decisions and actions
- Implement all VHI policies and procedures
- Abide by all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines to meet or exceed all food safety and industry standards
- Prepare meals according to planned and dietician certified menus including special dietary requirements
- Follow recipes per nutritional guidelines and HACCP plan throughout process
- Adhere to resident special diet orders
- Serve all food according to portion control guidelines and at the correct temperature
- Plate all resident meals unique to dietary needs and preferences with appealing presentation
- Prep for next day meals per production sheets and instructions
- Participate in special events cooking and serving as instructed
- Support activities program with nutritious snacks available 24/7 and scheduled snack activities
- Identify inventory needs and complete inventory counts
- Report inventory and par levels weekly to Executive Director
- Assist with uncrating deliveries and proper storage of products
- Minimize food waste and ensure no expired goods on shelves or in storage
- Maintain safe and sanitary kitchen with clean-as-you-go approach
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces and equipment per schedules
- Perform physical cleaning tasks including bending, lifting, kneeling, and mopping
- Maintain equipment and report needs to Executive Director
- Clean grease trap and ice machine weekly and maintain records
- Wash cookware, glassware, and china using commercial dishwasher and 3 compartment sink
- Ensure proper storage of all cleaned items
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
- Assure highest level of satisfaction from residents and families
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire safety procedures and assist with evacuation
- Maintain food and sanitation certification and food service license
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
