Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience as a cook or prep cook
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as grill, fryer, oven, mixer and slicer
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Availability to work scheduled shifts and events
  • Possession of food handling certification if required by law

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully and effectively with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide high quality fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • Portion, arrange and garnish food plates for delivery to guests
  • Participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation, service and delivery of products
  • Maintain quality and production standards on all menu items ensuring freshness and high quality
  • Report any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
  • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens
  • Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking and holding
  • Clean work areas, properly store food products, clean and put away utensils, sweep and mop floors at end of shift
  • Consult with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance and availability to work events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
