Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and write
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in an institutional or restaurant kitchen
  • Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures
  • Ability to use and clean kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work from recipes and instructions, including verbal, written and demonstration
  • Willingness to comply with food safety and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred
  • Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures
  • Ability to maintain food service related records and inventories
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions, including verbal, written and demonstrated
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and age specific dietary needs preferred
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements preferred
  • Current ServSafe or HACCP certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook short order food items according to recipes
  • Perform prep duties for future meals
  • Prepare cold items such as salads, sandwiches and parfaits
  • Comply with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment
  • Record and manage food service related forms and inventories
  • Use and clean kitchen equipment properly
