Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • have two years of experience in food production
  • demonstrate knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • be certified in CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid on or within 60 days of employment
  • complete and pass post-offer physical examination and 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis
  • obtain acceptable criminal background clearances and excluded party sanctions
  • provide degree or license verification if applicable
  • have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance if driving is required
  • maintain current certifications throughout employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation or G.E.D. equivalent
  • minimum of two years experience in food production
  • knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • experience using institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators, and freezers
  • understanding of nutritional principles in meal preparation
  • CPR certified
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified
  • First Aid certified

Job Duties

  • Order food and kitchen supplies as needed
  • prepare, season, and cook meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads, and desserts
  • serve food to members served at the facility
  • operate institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators, and freezers
  • ensure meals meet nutritional and therapeutic diet requirements
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
  • comply with all health and safety standards
