Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Two years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets
- High school graduation or GED equivalent
- Experience with institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators, and freezers
- Knowledge of nutritional principles in preparing regular and therapeutic diets
- CPR, CPI, and First Aid certification at employment or within 60 days
- Successful completion of physical exam, tuberculosis test, and background clearances
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance if driving is required
- Ability to maintain certifications throughout employment
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets
- High school graduation or GED equivalent
- Experience using institutional kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of nutritional principles for regular and therapeutic diets
- CPR certified or able to obtain certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified or able to obtain certification
- First Aid certified or able to obtain certification
- Able to pass physical examination and background checks
Job Duties
- Order food and supplies as needed
- Prepare and cook meals according to nutritional and therapeutic guidelines
- Season and cook meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads, and desserts
- Serve food to members being served
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen and equipment
- Operate institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators, and freezers
- Adhere to food safety and nutritional principles in meal preparation
