Job Description

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is a newly established healthcare facility located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The hospital offers expanded acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services in a state-of-the-art building designed to meet diverse patient needs. Acute rehabilitation services at Northwest Specialty Hospital include specialized occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or other disabling conditions. Job Requirements

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • servsafe certification preferred within six months of hire

  • ability to follow detailed recipes and food safety protocols
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • experience in a healthcare or hospital food service setting preferred

Job Duties

  • prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and serving areas
  • follow established food safety guidelines and standards
  • assist with inventory management and stock rotation
  • operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • collaborate with food and nutrition services staff to meet patient dietary requirements
  • ensure timely meal delivery and portion control
