Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • three to five years experience as a cook or chef in a related setting
  • proven experience as a short order cook
  • knowledge of recipe production on a full scale
  • valid food handling certification or willingness to obtain
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Three to five years experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant, hotel, or senior living community preferred
  • experience as a short order cook required
  • must have full scale recipe production experience
  • a genuine passion for food and a desire to create memorable dining experiences
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook delicious and nutritious meals according to menu specifications and dietary requirements
  • ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
  • collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu ideas and seasonal offerings
  • provide exceptional customer service to residents, catering to their individual preferences and dietary needs
  • maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations
