Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum two years of relevant experience in healthcare or institutional food service
- certification as a Safe Food Handler
- strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work flexible hours
- commitment to upholding organizational values
Job Qualifications
- high school graduate preferred
- two years of experience with hot food preparation and production in healthcare or institutional food service
- completion of Cook competency checklist if currently employed in Nutrition department
- current Safe Food Handler’s certificate
- knowledge of sanitation, safety, and infection control procedures
- ability to work with diverse personalities and adapt to changing conditions
- demonstrate NorthBay Health True North values
Job Duties
- perform hot food preparation and production
- distribute meals within and between healthcare facilities
- sanitize kitchen facilities and equipment
- assemble and produce tray-line meals
- manage product inventory and ordering
- participate in departmental activities and projects
- maintain compliance with state and federal safety and cleanliness standards
