NorthBay Health is a respected, independent nonprofit health system serving the Napa and Solano region north of the San Francisco Bay Area. Job Requirements

  • high school graduate preferred
  • minimum two years experience in hot food preparation and production in healthcare or institutional food service or current NorthBay Nutrition Department employee having completed Cook competency checklist
  • current Safe Food Handler's certificate
  • ability to maintain state and federal safety and cleanliness standards
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • capacity to work collaboratively within a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate preferred
  • two years of experience in hot food preparation and production in healthcare or institutional food service or completion of Cook competency checklist within NorthBay Nutrition Department
  • current Safe Food Handler's certificate
  • knowledge of sanitation, safety, and infection control procedures
  • ability to work with diverse personalities and adapt to changing conditions
  • excellent customer service skills demonstrating the NorthBay Way principles

Job Duties

  • prepare hot food items following state and federal safety regulations
  • distribute meals within and between healthcare facilities
  • sanitize kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness
  • assemble and produce tray-line meals
  • monitor product inventory and place orders as necessary
  • participate in departmental activities, projects, and programs
  • adhere to infection control and safety procedures
