Job Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain Tier-1 Childcare (CNACI) background checks
- Must pass pre-employment and annual physical exams
- Provide evidence of immunizations and be free from communicable diseases
- Complete required Department of Defense training including orientation and ongoing sessions
- Maintain current 4 Hour Food Handler certification
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
- May be required to obtain a government driver's license and government purchase card
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and heavier with assistance
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Comply with security, fire, and sanitation policies and regulations
Job Qualifications
- Working knowledge of food preparation methods and procedures
- Ability to read and understand food service materials such as labels and recipes
- Basic arithmetic skills to multiply ingredients and calculate servings
- Knowledge of different food characteristics including color, flavor, texture, and cooking times
- Skill in coordinating food preparation to ensure timely service
- Knowledge of sanitation principles
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
Job Duties
- Perform simple cooking tasks such as preparing pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and vegetables
- Prepare hot cereals, broil meats, and cook soups, sauces, and gravies
- Assist in food preparation including peeling, cutting, sorting, and assembling sandwiches
- Weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes and portion controls
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by washing dishes, cleaning preparation areas, and operating dishwashers
- Store, label, and rotate food items in compliance with health standards
- Comply with safety, sanitation, and security regulations while providing excellent customer service
