Job Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Childcare (CNACI) background checks
- Must pass pre-employment and annual physicals
- Provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable diseases
- Complete all Department of Defense training requirements including orientation, initial, and annual ongoing training
- Maintain required 4 Hour Food Handler certification
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
- May be required to obtain a government drivers license
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
Job Qualifications
- Working knowledge of food preparation methods and procedures
- Ability to read and understand written food service materials
- Basic math skills for recipe calculations
- Knowledge of food characteristics and cooking requirements
- Skill in planning and coordinating kitchen tasks
- Knowledge of sanitation principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare small quantities of food according to standardized recipes and food labels
- Perform basic arithmetic to calculate ingredient amounts and servings
- Apply knowledge of food characteristics such as color, flavor, texture, and cooking times
- Plan and coordinate the timing of meal preparation to ensure all menu items are ready on schedule
- Maintain strict sanitation and food safety standards
- Lift and carry food items and kitchen equipment safely
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations
