Job Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Childcare CNACI background checks
- Must pass pre-employment and annual physicals
- Must provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable diseases
- Must complete Department of Defense orientation, initial, and annual training requirements
- Must maintain 4 Hour Food Handler certification
- Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- May be required to obtain a government driver’s license and government purchase card
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently
- Must be able to work in warm and noisy kitchen environments with exposure to steam, fumes, and hazards
Job Qualifications
- Working knowledge of food preparation methods and procedures
- Ability to read and understand food service materials such as labels and standardized recipes
- Basic arithmetic skills to adjust recipes and servings
- Understanding of food characteristics including color, flavor, texture, and cooking times
- Knowledge of sanitation and food safety principles
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate and time food preparation tasks efficiently
Job Duties
- Prepare a limited variety of food items according to standardized recipes and procedures
- Read and understand food labels and recipes
- Perform arithmetic calculations to adjust ingredient quantities and portion sizes
- Plan and coordinate food preparation and cooking sequences to ensure timely service
- Maintain kitchen sanitation and adhere to food safety principles
- Lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and heavier items with assistance
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
