Job Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain TIER-1 Childcare (CNACI) background checks
  • Pass pre-employment and annual physicals
  • Provide immunization records and be free of communicable disease
  • Complete Department of Defense required trainings
  • Maintain 4 Hour Food Handler certification
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds independently
  • Ability to work in warm, noisy, and potentially hazardous kitchen environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of food preparation methods and procedures
  • Ability to read and comprehend food service materials
  • Basic arithmetic skills for recipe calculations
  • Knowledge of food characteristics including color, flavor, and texture
  • Skill in meal planning and timing
  • Understanding of sanitation principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

  • Prepare small quantities of food following established recipes and guidelines
  • Read and understand food labels and standardized recipes
  • Calculate ingredient quantities and servings
  • Plan, coordinate, and time meal preparation to ensure all items are ready simultaneously
  • Ensure food preparation follows sanitation and safety standards
  • Lift and carry kitchen items safely
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
