Job Requirements

  • Direct deposit and social security card required
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements
  • One-year probationary period may be required
  • Complete employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Complete minimum 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment
  • Complete 4 hours refresher training annually
  • Subject to medical examination and pre-employment checks

  • Work in hot, noisy kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of directly related experience
  • Skill working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation principles
  • Knowledge of cooking temperatures and methods
  • Ability to schedule and coordinate food preparation timing
  • Knowledge of food safety, storage, and prevention of foodborne illnesses
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Skill in operating and cleaning food service equipment
  • Skill in carving and food presentation

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items
  • follow recipes to prepare soups, stews, casseroles, gravies, sauces, and meats
  • adjust recipes for different serving sizes
  • roast, grill, deep fry, broil, and steam foods
  • check food for proper preparation, temperature, and packaging
  • slice meat by hand or mechanically
  • prepare vegetables, salads, sandwiches, and breakfast items such as eggs and pancakes
  • follow health and safety precautions related to food preparation
  • perform kitchen cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned
