Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience in institutional cooking
  • Proficiency in standard cooking techniques and food safety standards
  • Ability to understand and follow recipes, menus and dietary requirements
  • Capability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending and stooping
  • Willingness to undergo background check, drug testing, and required vaccine programs
  • Commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in institutional cooking, preferably in healthcare or institutional food service
  • Ability to understand and prepare standard cooking techniques
  • Ability to interpret menus and diets
  • Proficient in using appropriate food production equipment
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • Physical ability to lift up to fifty pounds, bend, stoop, twist and stand or walk for long periods
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaboration

Job Duties

  • Prepares meals in accordance with standard procedures by collecting supplies and ingredients necessary for meals
  • prepares food items according to standard recipes
  • cooks food items with appropriate equipment and at established temperatures
  • stores prepared items following all sanitation standards
  • performs special preparation tasks as assigned
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure streamlined service
  • Serves meals according to menus and daily meal distribution plan
  • coordinates menus, special functions, receptions, and catering services
  • Fulfills guest orders in a timely manner while adhering to best practices
  • Oversees proper cleaning and maintenance of assigned areas in compliance with operational standards
  • Inventories kitchen stock, alerts manager of any deficiencies, and keeps inventory records
  • Sanitizes work area including equipment and utensils
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
