Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years experience in institutional cooking preferably healthcare or institutional food service
  • ability to understand and apply standard cooking techniques
  • ability to interpret menus and diets
  • ability to use food production equipment correctly
  • ability to read and follow instructions in English
  • physical capability to lift up to fifty pounds
  • ability to bend, stoop, and twist
  • able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • pass background check and drug screening
  • participate in vaccination programs as required
  • comply with company drug-free policy

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • two years of experience in institutional cooking preferably in healthcare or institutional food service
  • ability to understand and prepare standard cooking techniques
  • ability to interpret menus and diets
  • proficiency in using appropriate food production equipment
  • ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • physical ability to lift up to fifty pounds and perform bending, stooping, and twisting
  • able to stand and walk for long periods

Job Duties

  • Prepares meals in accordance with standard procedures
  • collects supplies and ingredients necessary for meals
  • prepares food items according to standard recipes
  • cooks food items with appropriate equipment and at established temperatures
  • stores prepared items following sanitation standards
  • performs special preparation tasks as assigned
  • collaborates with team members to ensure streamlined service
  • serves meals according to menus and daily meal distribution plans
  • coordinates menus, special functions, receptions, and catering services
  • fulfills guest orders timely adhering to best practices
  • oversees cleaning and maintenance of assigned areas per operational standards
  • inventories kitchen area and maintains inventory records
  • sanitizes work area including equipment and utensils
  • performs additional assigned responsibilities
