Job Requirements

  • Food Handler’s Permit in required counties
  • Fingerprinting clearance card or eligibility to obtain
  • Successful background screening
  • Licensure verification if applicable
  • Reference check
  • Drug testing
  • Tuberculosis testing
  • Employee health screening conducted after hire
  • Ability to move, lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or institutional setting preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
  • Ability to follow detailed dietary instructions and menus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

  • Prepare food in a safe and timely manner in accordance with the facility menu
  • Ensure all food is prepared following food safety standards and federal and state guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Prepare appetizing food adhering to the dietary budget
  • Collaborate with the Dietary Manager on menu planning and food preparation schedules
  • Assist in inventory management and proper storage of food items
  • Comply with all employee health and safety protocols
